Does our legal system have racist tendencies? In a perfect world, people would be punished for the crimes of which they are guilty, and all punishments would be fair. Unfortunately, we do not live in a perfect world. Racism is still at large.…

In the film “The Central Park Five”, we could clearly saw that the racism was on of the important problem that all of the human being were facing. According to the Central Park Rape Case, one of the teenager said that the police officers arrested him without accessed to his parents and guardians. Moreover, the police did have the DNA evidence that could prove they were the suspects, but the government still judge them as guilty. Justice could not find out the enough evidences to judge them, but they still had to go to the prison. The Central Park Rape Case was not the only one case that involved the race problem. The Racism happened everywhere even in present. For an easy example, several Asian immigration students attended schools, but some of them were the victims of school bullying just because they were not white. For another example that happened when I visited San Francisco, one white woman was walking on the street with her boyfriend. One black man was jogging and bump into her by accident. Her stuffs were fall out from her hand bag. That man was trying to help her to pick them up, but…

Sandy Camel Consulting understands the need for investigating relationships between violent crime rates and the possible underlying causes. As a policy maker who wishes to promote rehabilitation (for nonviolent offenders) while effectively reducing the number of prisons and penitentiaries , it is essential to understand what possible factors influence violent crimes. Before you take steps to reduce prison funding and attempt to eliminate higher security facilities, it is absolutely necessary to ensure that the population within the surrounding city is not at risk for high violent crime rates. Before we…
There are several forms of racism. The biggest form of racism is racial profiling. Racial profiling is defined in the dictionary as “the use of race or ethnicity as grounds for suspecting of having committed an offense.” Why are there so many controversial issues regarding racial profiling? Why is it more likely for colored folks to get pulled over? Are they getting pulled over for a legit reason or just because? It is said that police are more likely to pull over and frisk colored people that the whites. “Thus, African Americans (and some other minorities) are trapped in what some have labeled the ‘joint frustration’ syndrome: African Americans, who are far more often the victims of crime, are simultaneously the most dependent upon and the…

These statistics show that, unfortunately, racism still plays a huge role in our life and justice system. Crime in the 20th century was always a big problem. Although it still very much existed at the time, rates of crime in the 1990’s astonished many Americans: it took a sudden turn. Rates of crimes dropped all over the nation, even in larger cities where violence was an everyday factor. There are numerous statistics and theories out there that try to explain why such a random decrease in crime happened.…
Los Angeles is one of the biggest and most populated metropolises around the world. It was founded by governor Filipe de Neve, a Spanish governor of Las California, in September 4, 1781. Los Angeles started as a small city with population of 11,500 people and continued steadily growing. At the beginning 20th century, the discovery of oil brought a lot of attention, and it shaped the economy, politics and social growth of the city. As population grows, it is obvious that a crime rate also grow. However, by looking at crime statistics, it suggests an economic and city development of Los Angeles, and it might be possible to reconstruct a historical development of a city based on crime rates.…

Racism is very much real, it’s alive, and it’s evident that it is destroying the United States’ Justice System. This country is the world’s leader in incarceration, there are 2.2 million people in prisons and jails nationwide. This number increased by 500% over the last 40 years. Although this is not due to changes in crime rates, it’s changes in laws, policies, and none other than racism.…
My crime trend does not seem to exist in Virginia. According to US legal “Parole has been abolished” (Us Legal, 2010). With parole being abolished this does not give felons a chance to become career criminals. By abolishing parole Virginia has cut down crime in their state significantly. According to the Lexington prosecutor the number of repeat offenders has risen from 1996 to 1999 about two percent each year. They are recommending stricter penalties and laws for repeat offenders. It says “there has been a 75% increase in the number of repeat offenders charged and prosecuted since 1996” (Lexington Prosecutor). So now there are questions being raised on why so many repeat offenders are being allowed back on our streets, and why are they on probation from a previous crime? This I believe is why they abolished parole, to help the Commonwealth of Virginia feel safe and get the repeat offenders off the street.…
