a particular discipline to help create and build a body of scientific knowledge to the point where theories, become a principle and the discipline as a whole becomes a science.(Turvey, 2015, pp 44-45). Crime scene and behavioral analysis is the application of “common sense reasoning” in conjunction with forensic science to interpret evidence. These are combined with a knowledge of likely behavior of participants. When reason, forensic science, and likely behavior interact investigators develop a reconstruction which depicts motive, movement, sequence, and timing to the participant in a crime and sometimes infers the motive of the crime (Rynerason,2002, pp 103-104). The use of scientific method, physical evidence, deductive and inductive reasoning, and their interrelationships to gain explicit knowledge of the series of events that surround the commission of a crime( Association for Crime Scene Reconstruction)
In conclusion, experts feel that the employment of scientific methods in criminology, could standardize the field, and make it a true science. There can be no doubt that observers effects exist and subconsciously influence forensic examiners. If the job of the criminal profiler were merely to work towards confirming law enforcement theories, then there would be no point in performing in-depth analysis of any offense or related behavior. (Turvey 2015, pp 44-45) That is why it is so important for criminal analysists to use scientific methods. Criminal analysis can infer conclusions based on evidence and reasoning, istead of using speculation, whis is a based on theory and conjecture with no firm evidence. (Turvey 2015, pp. 42-43).
