However, almost every case of genocide holds a factor of sexualized violence, especially when examining the forced marriages and violence against women in Armenia, the killings of those in Rwanda, rape as a weapon to induce fear in Yugoslavia and the sexualized violence against the homosexuals in Uganda.
In almost all of these cases, the acts of sexualized violence prelude the actual genocide. By looking back on these past genocides and finding out what these atrocities had in common when it came to the outbreak of sexualized voice enough information could be gathered in order to form an understanding of what might cause these instances. In turn, by focusing on acts of sexualized voice before they break out, measures could be taken to intervene and stop the actions before the breakouts which would look to put an end to the genocide before it even occurred. With this, this paper will focus on the practices of genocide prevention and how through the tracking of sexualized violence, preventative measures can be taken in order to prevent the crime of genocide on a global
scale.
