Cost-Benefit Efficiency: The budget is left to the states when producing the reports. If the state doesn’t show any progress toward proficiency, they can be punished with less funding, closure of schools or take over the districts. Therefore, states found a way to get around the criteria by lowering standards, reclassifying and fudging numbers on reports. This cause the money funded to districts to be in vain. Laws have been created for equality and are constantly adjusting. With the goal of chosing the achievement gap, The NCLB never address the barriers the children face when living in poverty or oppression. Disadvantage schools are already setup to fail because of the segregation and structural inequalities that goes far beyond the school. With a huge problem such as education system, it hard to make a difference with one person. Everyone has to be on the same page.
