1. Introduction; the Chief Executive Officer /Vice Chancellor Kyambogo University has the primary responsibility of effectively managing any crisis that might occur on or affect the University. Disasters or emergencies can happen suddenly, creating a situation in which normal operational and support services for the University may become overwhelmed. During crises, the University requires processes that address the needs of emergency response operations and recovery management. To address such emergencies, this Plan is proposed to establish emergency response procedures, that provide guidelines for the management of the immediate actions and operations required to respond to an emergency or disaster. The overall priorities of the University during a disaster are the protection of lives, valuable research, property, the community, and the environment. The overall objective is to respond to emergency conditions and manage the process of restoring University academic and research programs
