Critical Thinking Case
When examining complex disputes in the workplace, managers must apply certain skills in order to come to the morally correct and reasonable conclusion that will be in the best interest for the company and determine who or what is at fault. Managers must use critical thinking in order to better understand the issue at hand as well as to be able to see every angle in order to come to a reasonable conclusion. It is also important for managers to remain unbiased and impartial when reviewing complex disputes in the workplace in order to avoid coming to the wrong conclusion. This paper will examine the case and determine who or what is at fault while utilizing critical thinking skills and remaining unbiased and impartial.

Schmidt was injured is very complicated with a multitude of factors that led to the incident. The first was a breakdown of communication between the shop manager and shop foreman. The second was the alleged misconduct of the defendant prior to the incident. The third is that the safety guard had been reported as faulty by the company’s employees. This was backed up by a health and safety report. Through a detailed analysis of the information, it has been determined that the issue that caused the injury to the defendant was a failure for the shop foreman to report the numerous complaints to the shop manager as well as the failure to act on the health and safety report that described the failing machinery. It his highly recommended that the company implement the suggestions laid out in this paper in order to mitigate any further risks.
