Many educational systems today do not accept the students’ behavior that they always learn by heart and follow one’s ideas without thinking and understanding what they study and research. Nowadays, students are taught to become more effective and skillful thinkers by using their own knowledge to create and construct their own ideas. For this reason, student can remember longer what they learn themselves. Thus, in this homework, I focus on my improvement in thinking process which becomes more important for people today through three mind traits.
Firstly, I will talk about intellectual perseverance. We all know that there are lots of problems are so complicated and not easy to solve. However, in those cases should I become scared and then, give up. Of course, not. I should not be afraid with difficulties, instead of that; I will have positive awareness to solve them, not just simple or easy things. I also shall try to do and evaluate everything carefully and surely, not quickly but uncertainly. Indeed, without intellectual perseverance, those challenges cannot be overcome. Moreover, I have recognized that the higher level I study, the more difficult things I have to face. So, that is the reason why intellectual perseverance becomes really important in my life.
Secondly, in intellectual autonomy, I try to have my own ideas although may be they are not good and intelligent as my classmates’ ones. That means I should make a lots efforts to think about every issue by my own thinking, not easily agree with other’s viewpoints. Thanks to intellectual autonomy, in each decision of mine, I do not depend much on other‘s answers. Also, when I am facing a reasonable idea, I will assess at its true worth, not just following my point of views. Meanwhile, I do not passively accept the belief of others without think carefully and thoroughly.
