The Question of Origin –
Hinduism seems to have been an open religion that is dated back to around 1500 B.C. (Halverson, 2004). Most of the Hindus lived in India or the religion is native to India. “Unlike other religious traditions, Hinduism does not originate in a single founder, a single book or a single point in time. It contains many different beliefs, philosophies and viewpoints, not always consistent with each other.” (Violatti, 2013) This sums it up and I don’t know how else to better explain this.
The Question of Identity –
Practicing Hinduism is to show appreciation to the Gods and too live a live with the scripture in your heart. This religion is mostly related to India’s culture were they preach the importance of gratitude and how to make the right choices in the life they are currently living so they will be reincarnated to a better life.
The Question of Meaning/Purpose
There is four purposes in the life of Hinduism. One, Dharma which means fulfilling one 's purpose and repaying debts for their lives. Two, Artha and this means prosperity. Third is Kama which relates to desire, sexuality, and enjoyment. Fourth is Moksha and this is enlightenment. Hindus believe that they are born in debt to the gods and other humans, and they must repay those debts during their lifetime.
The Question of Morality –
Always be kind with people and the world God created. Live peacefully without fear or harm to anyone. Always remember Karma. What comes around goes around or we reap what we sow. Anything you do good or bad will come back around.
The Question of Destiny –
Hindus believe that the actions of an individual create their own destiny. Destiny goes side by side with the karma people bring around to themselves. What one does in their lifetime will turn out to be their destiny.
