Criticism Of The Nutcracker By Tchaikovsky
Tchaikovsky was born on May 17 in 1840. The country he was born in was Udmurtia, Russia. His style for writing was ballet and we was very good at melody writing. Tchaikovsky was not a nationalist even though he did write a few songs about his country. When Tchaikovsky was very poor and had no help this very nice women who Tchaikovsky has never seen before they have only talked online decided to be his financial supporter and her name was Madame Von Meck. Sadly Tchaikovsky passed away on November 6, 1893.

One of Tchaikovsky’s pieces was called The Nutcracker. The Nutcracker was based on “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King.” The year The Nutcracker was made was 1892 and the style was a ballet. The set up ws 18 pieces and the music was played

    Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky was a popular Russian composer. He was born on May 7th, 1840 and died November 6th, 1893. Tchaikovsky was a very famous music composer mainly during the early 1800s. Out of his +160 pieces, three of his most popular are "The Nutcracker", "Swan Lake", and "Sleeping Beauty".     “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky is one of the best known songs in The Nutcracker. Miles Hoffman, the music commentator for Morning Edition and a nationally renowned violinist, once stated, “And many of them [Tchaikovsky’s melodies] in this - just in this one ballet [The Nutcracker]- are immortal” (Hoffman). Tchaikovsky first began work on the music to the now internationally renowned ballet in February 1891 (Schwarm). While in Paris that year, he heard an instrument called the celesta, whose name is derived from the word celestial, being played, and thought its unique, twinkly sound would be perfect for the music of the fairy-tale ballet he was working on. This instrument is used as the melody in the song “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” (“History of Nutcracker”). In March 1892, selections from the orchestral suite were performed for the first time; however, the ballet, based on Alexandre Dumas’ lighter adaption of the fantasy story, The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, by E.T.A. Hoffman, premiered on December 18, 1892 along with Tchaikovsky’s opera, Iolanta, at the Imperial Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Russia (Schwarm).
