Cruel Angel's Thesis

A Cruel Angel’s Thesis is a famous song composed by Yoko Takahashi. She purposely crafts the melody as an opening soundtrack for the Japanese animated series, Neon Genesis Evangelion. Thus, the song’s lyrical body reflects the protagonist’s psychological struggles as well as his emotions. For example, the ballad starts with “ Young boy, like a cruel angel's thesis, Live up to be a legend…” which can be translate into “ Protagonist, in the future, you will be plagued greatly by ill thought as you grows old ”.
