6 November, 2017 There are many ways that Maria and Martin are similar and different. These ways are shown through their relationships, environment, and cultural background. There are many ways they are similar but I’m only doing three. Both of there have very strong beliefs and traditions that run in their families. They also both have a cultural background. The text states,” I point to each piece of my outfit and say a name: Mami, Papi, Uma, and Whoopee,” (pg. 258). The author states, ””Hau, Takoza, Grandchild,” he greeted me formally in Sioux,” (pg. 603). Both of their grandparents gave them something. There are 3 ways they are different also and I’m going to tell you them. Maria embraced
her cultural background, unlike Martin he was embarrassed with his cultural background. Also, they both have a different relationship with their grandparents. The text states,” Abuela embraces and kisses my face several times,” (pg. 258). And for Matins textual evidence,” All I could do was stand there with the whole neighborhood watching and shake the hand of the leather- brown old man,” (pg. 603). There many compare and contrast thing on Martin and Maria. I put three ways they are similar and different. I talked about their cultural background and their relationships with their grandparents.
