Cultural Norms In The Workplace

I agree with your paper, we as nurses must be aware of our patient’s culture norms. When we enter our workplace we must drop our cultural baggage at the door and be willing to accept the fact that everyone is different. When care for an individual from Hispanic origins we as nurses need to slow down to ensure we build trust, involve the entire family and pay close attention to their non-verbal’s (Rinderle, 2012). Staying in the hospital can be frightening for some patients; building rapport can help these persons feel more conformable, and make difficult producers easier. It is important to get to know each patient individually to understand their needs.
