Without her help it was quiet impossible to finish this term paper properly in time. I would humbly give thanks to all of them for their tolerance and valuable support.

It was a tough task to prepare a term paper within this short period. For successfully prepare this term paper at the beginning, I obviously express my deepest thanks and appreciation to Md. Maruf Hossain Khan (Assistant Manager, Commercial Sales) and all other employees of the branch.

Executive Summary

In the last term of the BBA program, I was sent to DAMCO to have a practical exposure on logistics activities. DAMCO is a renowned logistics company in the world.

In Bangladesh DAMCO run the operation with 3 branches- Dhaka, Chittagong and Khulna. With the branches DAMCO is providing comprehensive and competitive services to its client.

Successful business in Bangladesh requires a combination of skill and local knowledge - The economy has traditionally been centrally controlled, there are strict rules on fund transfer outside the country, and the economy is often hampered by strikes. 74% of total exports are garments and textile articles. Other items are jute, tea, leather and frozen seafood. Two export processing zones have been set up to attract foreign investments. The country exported apparels worth 6.8 billion US$ in 2004 primarily to USA, EU and Canada, giving DAMCO the opportunity to serve many of the biggest names in international brands.

With strong marketing strategies and operational activities of DAMCO is playing a leading role in Bangladesh. By providing varies type of services the company is playing the role for the development of the Bangladesh economy and the country people.
