Ever since I have been little I remembered my Mom calling my family in Germany once a month. And on those days I remember always being curious about how our lives in the United Sates, differed from Germany. My Mom tried to explain how over in Germany they valued education and recycling. How in Germany they thought it was a natural instinct to want to escape from prison and do not punish people who tried. How my great grandma lived in a small village known as Boppard, which is so small you could walk around the village in a couple hours and where everyone knew each other. Talking about Germany made my mind wander about how one day I would be able to see Germany and experience everything my mom always marveled about.
