“Me Talk Pretty One Day” deals with a 40 year old man trying to learn the language of the French. The main point to me is the fact that David Sedaris would get basically bullied by his teacher but he still somehow learned the French language. At the end of the story he says an insult that his teacher had said to him, “ Everyday spent with you is like having a cesarean section” but as the teacher says this to Sedaris for the first time all semester he understand what she was saying to him. Now he could only comprehend what she was saying but it did not mean that he could suddenly speak the language like he was fluent.
