The air filter should be checked once a month. Replace it when it is dirty, seeming how it is very important for your engine to breathe clean air. Most people don't do this but we should be checking our engine oil every other time we fill up are gas tank. Remove the dipstick and wipe it clean. Insert it fully and remove it again. If it is low, add oil. To maintain peak performance change the oil filter every 3000 miles or three months. Check your transmission fluid monthly with engine warm and running, and parking brake on. Shift to drive, then to park. Remove dipstick, wipe dry, insert and remove it again. Add the approved type of fluid, if needed. Always keep your washer fluid full as you may need it in case of a road side emergency if you blinded by roadside mud, dirt, salt or other substances. Check power steering fluid level once per month. Simply remove the reservoir dipstick. If the level is down, add fluid and inspect the pump and hoses for leaks. Always make sure you use extreme caution when handling a battery since it can produce explosive gases. Do not smoke, create a spark or light a match near a battery and always wear protective glasses and gloves. Have it checked with every oil change. Cable should be attached securely and be free of corrosion. Inspect your belts and hoses monthly. Replace worn, glazed or warn belts. Tighten your belts
