He will say to me that with experience comes the confidence to deal with any problems that may arise. Cars and their drivers can be unpredictable, so there will come a time when your years of driving will become essential to preventing a crash. He says that you should always be acutely aware of your surroundings. His advice is to never assume that someone is going to do something, as he's learned from years on the road. He says that good driving habits include always checking your blind spot and your speed, and using your headlights appropriately. Bad driving habits, however, are speeding, not completely stopping at stop signs, not using your turn signal, and being an aggressive driver. To deal with heavy traffic, he'll sometimes use back ways to get to where he's going to simply avoid it. When traffic is unavoidable, he says to always keep a keen eye on your surroundings, and to watch others’ brake lights and to use your own. He feels that traffic laws are fitting, but it is the drivers at fault who don't understand driving laws. He feels that it should be required that everyone take drivers ed in high school, to educate current and future drivers, bikers, and pedestrians on the rules of the road.
