Is Day care only the reason which would cause the children to be more aggressive? Obviously, it is not. There are many other reasons that would lead to the same result. Apart from the two confounding variables from the text, which are whether the mothers are working or stay-at-home and the quality of daycare, the amount of time children spend watching television and playing video games probably is one of the variables. Just a month ago, there was a shooting rampage in at the Washington Navy Yard1. After it had happened, a group of people believed that video game is the reason of this tragedy as the friends of gunman said that he obsessed with violent video game2. However, when the study has potential flaws, it must state clearly so as to avoid any arbitrary conclusion.
