In this series Deadpool takes a job for the company Roxxon. The job requires the character to wipe out a group of villagers who are refusing to leave their land which is sitting on an oil field. Deadpool is being offered a lot of money to go in and wipe out the villagers; however, instead he choices to switch sides to his own great detriment. During his efforts to save the outgunned villagers he is tortured and forced to rip off his own arm. He manages to do this by repeatedly reminding himself that his superpower is his ability to hurt himself.
