Death On The Road

There are thousands of accidents in a day and most people have either been in one or has seen the possibilities of the destruction. Death on the highway is a chance that every person takes when they get into a moving vehicle. Most accidents today are caused by careless drivers who do not think about their actions. Selfish drivers do not think about the consequences they face or even put other people into. For instance, most people struggle with the temptation of looking at their phone while driving, in addition to, unsafe vehicles, and the possibilities of drunk drivers being on the highway is likely. The temptation of driving and looking at your phone can be difficult but, it is unacceptable. Many states and other countries around the world
prohibit the use of a phone while driving. Phones have created a more flexible communication lifestyle, consequently, many people use them while driving. Today in most schools, students sit through lectures from local police departments that reveal appalling crash scene pictures to hopefully scare since into inexperienced drivers. Driving and using a phone is just flat out unsafe for the driver, in addition to other innocent people on the roads. Have you ever been behind a car and their exhaust smoke is black or heard a loud whining noise as a vehicle comes to a stop? This is a sign that the owner is not taking proper care of their vehicle. Consequences of this could mean that the vehicles breaks are about to fail or that the engine is not taken care of and could break down. If this were to happen then the driver would not be able to stop resulting in an accident, or worse, becoming stranded and possibly being picked up by an unsafe stranger. Believe it or not, but a wide percentage of people do not spend the money to take their vehicle to the shop. Having a vehicle inspection regularly could guarantee the safety of not only the driver, but others around. Drunk driving is a crucial problem that continues to take thousands of lives. When a person decides to drive drunk they are not only impacting their life, but most importantly, other innocent people on the highway. The writer has had personal experience with losing a loved one due to a stranger who decided to drive drunk. One night, a few drinks, and one selfish decision to drive drunk is all it takes to hurt or even possibly murder others on the highway. As mentioned, when a person drives drunk an accident is usually involved, but, what is worse is that the drunk driver frequently makes it out of the accident with minor injuries and other innocent people pay the ultimate price of death.
