Define Project
Task 1:
1. Define what a project is and how project selection and strategy might/might not interact in an organisation.
A project is simply a starting point undertaken to create a unique product or service to achieve objectives. (Larson et al, 2014, p.5)
Choosing the projects to undertake is one of the commonly mishandled activities within organizations. The selection of projects is critical for organizations to define and bring awareness to the selection process in which can take the organization to the next level. Project selection turns strategy into action and if done effectively the process can significantly improve the organisations ability to execute its strategy and enhance its results. In order for the project selection & strategy to successfully interact with the organisation the organization must be skilled in leadership and strategy, and employ a structured systems approach to ensure that are consistent with the strategic goals of the organization.
