Definition Essay On Prejudice
Prejudice is not about your opinion being accurate but instead the unwillingness to respect another's personal beliefs. Whether or not you behave tolerably or intolerably towards a person's opinion depends on the way you were raised, sometimes you are intolerable because of the people you were raised by. To be prejudiced a person must have a preconceived opinion or thought with no reasoning or experience to the topic. Often times people are prejudice because the people who raised them had an intolerable way of reacting towards a certain topic. As a child you would not be able to think any other way because your guardians would not be tolerable of any other mindset except for their own resulting in you growing up with an opinion that was conceived …show more content…
In Asian cultures prejudice assumptions are often shown by the parents. At an early age parents force knowledge into their children's minds, in doing so they create a cycle of which their kids will learn as well. This prejudice example rubs off on different cultures so when people think of asians they think of their smartness. A big prejudice example in the African-American culture is that they are dangerous people, parents teach their kids how to defend themselves from any danger at an early age. In doing so people grow to fear the community because of how african-americans appear even though they can be the most loving people. Hispanic people face some of the most prejudiced opinions. Latino’s are always doing whatever possible to get by and prepare for their future, an assumption is that they steal jobs. Stealing means forcibly taking but this is an opinion because they search for jobs and
