Rain, Rain, go away, come back another day we all remember singing that as children. Back in those days, rain just meant we could not play outside. What is rain though? To some it is the spherical combination of two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen. To others rain means a bad hair day. Many people don't have a specific definition of rain; others have different meanings because of different backgrounds. To me rain evokes emotions. Rain makes me think gloomy, depressed thoughts, and it also makes me feel alive. More than anything rain makes me think about my mom. My mother died when I was thirteen. Since then I look for anything that is a sign that she is here with me. There is this one song by Steve Wariner called, "Holes in the Floor of Heaven." The song is about a father at his daughters wedding. The daughter's mom has died. He sings about the wedding and how as she is about to throw the bouquet and the rain starts coming down. They look at each other. Then the chorus starts, "cause there are holes in the floor of heaven, and her tears are pouring down, that's how I know she is watching wishin' she could be here now, so sometimes when your lonely, just remember she can see " That song makes me hope it sprinkles on my wedding day. Most people dread rain on there wedding day. They saying it would ruin it, for me it would make it. On certain days like her birthday and such when I drive to see her I look for a few drops to hit my windshield. I know she is always there with me.
