DEFINITION ESSAY Respect Respect means a feeling inside the heart, and it is admiration for someone or something educed by their abilities, qualities or achievements. Respect is what everyone wants, but a lot of people don’t know how to respect others, few people have respect to others. What I admire most from someone is how they respect other people. I think to respect a person means that no matter what their race is, what their religion is, or what good decision they want to make, we have to show them kindness and benevolence. The positive way to respect yourself is making you feel good physically, by eating healthy food, having low stress, and doing exercise. The more love and kindness you show to yourself, the more you will respect yourself. Another thing is how you speak about yourself, because it shows who you are and how much respect you have for yourself. Always speak positively about yourself and never put yourself down with negative words. Furthermore, you should never compare yourself to others, because the more you try to be someone else the more you develop difficulties in life. The difficulties someone can develop while comparing to others is putting more effort to get what others have and they can’t afford it. No matter how well you think you know someone, you don’t know everything about their real life. Maybe they always have things that they took from others and act they own. For example, you see your friends everyday with different cars and you try to compare yourself with them. Property should always be respected. For example, someone borrows your car, so the person should return the car in the same condition you gave it. They should not bring the car broken, but keep it as if they own it. Another thing is to asking permission before using someone else’s things. I remember when I was 10 years old; my dad went to his farm and told me not to touch anyone’s belongings. One of our neighbors had vehicle drawn by a donkey, and we called it a cart. I waited until he left, and I took the cart without permission of our neighbor. I remember very well that I drove the cart to someone else’s farm and destroyed a lot of things on the farm. After seeing what I demolished, I ran away from the farm, forgetting that there were some other farmers watching over me. They told my dad what I did, and I was beaten so badly that I would never touch anyone’s belongings again. That’s when I learned the importance of respecting other people’s
