How do you define success? The dictionary meaning of success is “the achievement of something desired, planned, or attempted. Society defines success as wealth, position, and power.” I believe success has nothing to do with wealth, position, or power as long as you're a hard worker and determined that what makes you successful. Success can be defined in many ways but in reality examples of success we come in contact with are nurses, teachers, volunteers that work towards a goal to improve our society.

Not saying K. Michelle may not do theses things but society has put Beyonce at the top of everything when it comes to the music industry. Both are successful women but society sometimes will choose and pick who they choose to support.
Many people including me feel that success has nothing to do with wealth, position, and power. If you're a senator, parent, or even homeless and you put forth your best effort, that is what makes you successful. People that work for the government aren’t all famous but they're all successful because they all are working to achieve one goal. Your parents are even a good example of being a success because they take care of you and help you achieve your goals. The small things make you a success, it’s not always about wealth.
In conclusion for someone to be successful there has to be some reason and planning to achieve. You have to always have a desire, plan, and be able to attempt to reach your goal. Society make success about Wealth, position, and power. Being a hard worker and determined is what makes you successful not any amount of money. Many people say wealth is the key to measuring success; they are wrong. Success should be measured upon ones happiness, the friends one has and if their goals in life have been attained. It is like saying you can never buy happiness. The American dream is often considered being affluent, but once one becomes rich- if ever- that's all he ever gains and won't be truly happy or successful. This is confirmed time after time again in F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby and in other readings and movies; it has in all probability been proven in your own experiences also. Success is like a rubber-band ball where you keep building and building upon it in hopes to make it a truly grand item to boast.…

While some people equate having wealth and power as being successful, that is often not the case. Although earning and having money is an important aspect of our economy and existence, earning large sums of money is not an accurate way of measuring nor determining if a person is successful or not. Those who find true satisfaction in life, regardless of their wealth or social status, are the ones who have reached true success. As put into words by award-winning author Maya Angelou, "success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it." True success is achieved when an individual has reached a point in their life where their goals and achievements are meaningful and…
