1. Depression stems from pessimistic thinking, anticipating the worst possible outcome imagining evil and unhealthy things to happen (Blackburn, Wilkins-Ho & Wiese, 2017).
2. Many reason include loss loved ones, due to lack of close family ties, relocation, change and deteriorating health issues and social and cultural shift (Goud & Nikhade, 2015)
B. Prolonged depression in older adults.
1. A cognition of sadness, worry, feeling hopeless, and low self-esteem (Uncapher, Gallagher-Thompson, Osgood & Bongar, 1998)

Depression, a disease that impacts life in older adults. Pessimism constitutes feeling of resentment at someone (Greenlee & Hyde, 2014). When constant negative thinking continues, the effects is threatening in senior adults. Several helpful ways older adults can change to resist negative thinking; take accountability, accept blame for all damaging reasoning, learn to separate imagination from reality, practice letting go, leave hurtful feeling in the past and set
