Describe The Beatles
"All my loving I will send to you. All my loving, darling I'll be true." who doesn’t or at least isn't familiar with these lyrics? All My Loving was composed by Paul McCartney, member of one of the most influential rock bands of all times, The Beatles." During the week of April 4, 1964, the Beatles held the first five slots on the Billboard Singles chart. They went on to sell more than a billion records and a compilation of the Beatles Number One hits, hit Number One in 35 countries and went on to become the best-selling album of the 2000s" (Rollingstone). Although they have had many classic hits the song "All My Loving" is a timeless classic covered by many artists throughout the decades like Arctic Monkeys, Alvin and the Chipmunks, …show more content…
Paul McCartney's bass lines, Ringo Starr's slaphappy drumming, George Harrison's rockabilly-style guitar leads, John Lennon's assertive rhythm guitar and their four voices. While Amy on her cover of the song is accompanied by an acoustic guitar, nothing less, nothing more.
From the beginning of the song The Beatles bring a poppy and constant tempo, since it is a happy love song. For the most part there are only 6 simple chords and 2 different ones which only take place during the chorus of the song in both version. Amy's cover although it has the same chords it's played very differently. It has a slower tempo to it and the fingering of the chords is not the same as The Beatles, who play the chords regularly.Paul McCartney as the composer, sings throughout this whole song. The rest of The Beatles come in at certain parts to harmonize like in the chorus. In Amy's solo version she gives it her own vocal style. She tends to experiment with her contralto singing meaning she has a low voice. Also adding her own twist to this

Since this song was written during the 60s letter writing was a common way of communicating. When Paul says "And then while I'm away, I'll write home everyday" and "All my loving I will send to you, All my loving darling I'll be true" he is not so much booing about how much he misses his love but reassuring her that he will not stop thinking about her while he goes away and hoping they will be reunited soon. Unlike Amy's version which has a more sensitive and mellow feel to it. Even from the beginning you can begin to tell that she is sad about her love. She always struggled with very low self confidence and relationship issues, and in her version she is hoping that her love will not forget her while she is away because she "will always be true" to her

The Beatles first single “Love Me Do” released on 5th October 1962 became the first single and managed to hit the UK charts. The song peaked at No. 17 and arguable allowed a number of Liverpool performers able to follow them into the charts, including Gerry & The Pacemakers and The Searchers. Love me Do is in the musical key of G major with a Mixolydian modal inflection. The song has a common time signature in AABA form with partial reprise. The arrangement of the composition featured vocals, harmonica, acoustic rhythm guitar, tambourine, and drums. The use of a Harmonic as a lead instrument played by John Lennon is a prominent feature of the composition that creates melody against the open chords played on the acoustic guitar by George Harrison. John Lennon oddly plays the F natural as the first note of the opening motif on the harmonica, which adds an Mixolydian modal inflection. George Harrison plays the chords G major and C major before moving the chords to D major, C major and G major for the middle eight. The motifs and instrumental solo of the Harmonica played by John Lennon has a bluesy feel along with the Shuffle drum beat complimented with the Tambourine. The song was completely co-written by Paul McCartney and…

The Beatles were so popular partially because of their use of so many different instruments, and song forms. Some of the instruments that they use include the kazoo, banjo, recorder, and Choral Electric Sitar. Their song Revolution#9 has many different instruments and techniques. It was also a very experimental song as well, because of all of the techniques used in it. They did this so they would get a different, and unusual sound unlike any other. One of the techniques they would use is called looping. Looping is when you take a certain tape or audio file and you repeat it so that it sounds like you’re just repeating that phrase over and over again. They played around with playing tracks backward and combined 7 or 8 different songs together into one…
