The child may lack self-confidence. The child may withdraw from other children. The child may pick up fighting in school. On the other hand, children from stable home or family with both parents together, they get parental guidance. Such child has self-confidence. This child is more likely to be more attentive in class. It is important to notice and respond to concern when looking at young people’s development. This is to make sure that the child gets or receives the help required. The sooner the child gets assistance the better. If a concern is ignored or the problem is not considered things could get worse.

Physically as a child not playing at playtime they might not be as physically active as they previously were. Responding to any concern must be done in a professional way. This means that you do not talk to the parents or carer of the child without first following procedures. You would approach the class teacher with your concern. You would have to have a note of exactly what you see or hear. You need to state why it was a concern to you. You must record the date and time this happened. The record must be accurate and true. In case the teacher disregards it, you need to report it to the relevant person about the teacher until concern has been reported correctly.
