I come from a single family home I was raised by my mother, I have two sisters and one brother who was raised in the home with me. My mother raised me with a religious background with many different beliefs which is what made me who I am today. I was blessed to attend school with other races, Chinese, Indians, Mexicans and Europeans, which taught me how to interact with other cultures. When you learn to communicate and speak another language that opens up a dialogue for you to gain access to other knowledge that can help you progress in life. Culture is important because it allows you to have a support system and transmit and share values. Social functioning is also important because once you leave home you have to be able to adapt in the real world. Interacting with new people allows you to make new friends in school, work and learn new ideas outside your culture.
