Descriptive Essay: Lake Hauto
Describe A Place Essay Lake Hauto isn’t just any place to me, its where I come from. It’s a pretty weird place all year round but in the summer, nothing beats the feeling that it gives. When I arrive, it makes me feel that summer has finally arrived which it’s been summer for a month now. Seeing the tall trees, packed beaches, and the overcrowded water, really makes me happy that I’m there. So, to describe it with one word is quite difficult to me because it’s not just any normal place to me. The whole time I’m pretty much at the beach. I usually like to play volleyball and its nice because it’s actually competitive there. You must try and its nice when you spike the ball and feel it pop of your hand, but it sucks when the sand bursts out …show more content…
When everyone goes off to eat is when I really enjoy the beach because you get it all to yourself. Now you get to listen to cars driving on the highway and hear the wind whistle across the lake. Also see the clear blue sky, the water crack and ripple from the wind, and feel the sun’s warmth on your skin, the sand either cut your feet or cushion every step, the water flow around you, and feel the wind cool your body. Eventually everyone starts to fill the beach after they eat, but I usually canoe back to the lake house that my pap has. It’s nice there also because I’m still right on the water and still get to feel, hear, and see everything that I enjoy about the lake. When I get back its usually time to eat. Whenever we come up we have a family tradition to order this amazing pizza from a place that I can’t even spell, but I know it’s an Italian name. The pizza puts the icing on the cake. You can smell the freshness and feel the heat of the pizza when my dad walks in with it. The second its on the table were like an army of locusts and just destroy it. They use a special seasoning for the pizza which makes it have more of a cheesy flavor which I like personally. After we eat we usually get a fire going and watch as

The water glistened off the sun like a polished pearl. After strolling up to the shore, she gazed at the astounding view. She hopped into ice-cold liquid, and felt a chill crawl up her back. “How does it feel,” yelled a far off voice. “It feels great… jump right in,” she lied. She thought about how Lake Holcombe allows people to be themselves, spend time with family, and become stronger mentally and physically.…

There’s no other place in the world where I feel the most at home than being at Long Beach Island. There you can smell the fresh, salty air of the ocean as the warm breeze brushes across your face. It is a place where the sand, sometimes chilled by the water or boiling hot up in the sand dunes, fiddles its way through your toes one by one sending chills down your spine with every step. Off in the distance you can hear the chiming of bells as the ice cream men call children of all ages to cool themselves off with a frozen treat. This is the place that all summer long, I am lucky to call home.…

The first few steps after the boardwalk may feel rather rocky due to scattered sediments and tiny pebbles sticking on to the soles of your feet, but by halfway to the ocean, it starts getting smooth and cooler with every step you take. If laying around and catching some ray is not your type of fun, there are beach volleyball courts set up, kites to be flown here and safe swimming with lifeguards on the look out. Gazing at the sandy shore, you can see the roaring waves rushing in, toppling forts and castles made out of silken sands that shimmers under the blazing sun like tiny luminous stars in the night sky. Take advantage of this peaceful, quiet moment by standing on the shoreline and wait for the rolling ocean water slide by the ankles of your leg. As the waves try to pull back in, you will feel a sinking sensation on the heels of your foot due to the pressure of your weight and the surrounding sand. Lastly, there is an area for youths with a big, plastic palm tree set up in the middle and tiny sprinklers around it, spraying cold, chilling drops that can be felt even to the people strolling on the boardwalk. The beach is always crowded with families and couples to enjoy on their days off and especially on Friday nights, gorgeous firework shoot off can be seen starting at 9:30p.m. (Only during the summer…

    The Lake-Personal Narrative

The Lake was quiet, peaceful, wondrous, and beautiful this time. It has always been miniscule, but it was big in my mind. The small green grasshoppers were hopping about, and wanted to be concealed in the recently mowed grass, but were too big without being spotted. The small forest was waving to us from below, making a friendly gesture to all. They swayed in a simple but smooth rhythm together as one like music notes played on the piano, making a magnificent melody. The reeds located near the shallow waters of the Lake were covered by moss, but still beautiful in the sight of their mellow, naturalistic colors. The sparkling water and the ripples were slowly moving as the wind carried them swiftly to one way and another. The tiny tadpoles were waiting for their adulthood to come to fully develop. The fish were silently sitting still for a worm to swim past them so they would be able to eat a late…

    America the Beautiful

America is a unique individual with several defining qualities. Loudness and quietness coexisting in one place is remarkable and truly beautiful. Ocean City, New Jersey is a breathtaking place, as is America. Being on the beach is what I look forward to the most while preparing for vacation. Silence envelops my body on the beach, and yet waves crash down as adults and children scream and play. The most amazing part about the shore is tanning. Not because I like to get darker, but because I feel as though the sun embraces my body and gives me warmth—it’s a sense of ease, a sense of comfort. Even on the boardwalk, there’re so many people everywhere talking, laughing, eating—but the food is a completely different story. Anyway, being on top of a ride is exhilarating, yet so serene. It’s almost as good as one of my best recollections from vacation.…

We enjoyed the atlantic ocean, the warm white sand, and the scorching hot sun. We could hear the huge waves crashing into the sandy shore. We could also hear the lively chatter of the people on the beach. The smell of the salty ocean and the banana boat sunscreen overtook the air with mass quantities of the two smells combined. The touch of the hot sand on your feet and the rough seashells on shore. The best part of the day was when me and my brother went kayaking for an hour out into the deep blue sea. It took fifteen long minutes to fight our way over the…

The Sustainable Shoe Development literature review is based on a self-motivated research brief given to the third year students doing Graphic Design at Cape Peninsula University of Technology. The Sustainable Shoe Development assignment started at first through online research done on the self-chosen topic. The reason background research was done is to merely discover what measures and programs have been taken to create sustainable shoes for people to wear. The environment is of great concern to scientists across the worlds that have studied through research in their field of the harmful effects various substances can cause to the environment. Shoes contain harmful chemicals, which affect the environment vastly. Through my research done by conducting surveys, journals, books and other internet sources, I have discovered that there are policies put into place by leaders of Sustainable Shoe Development such as Puma, Nike and New Balance and shoes created by these companies which are environmentally friendly. Many are making the change across the globe to sustainable footwear, and South Africa and other countries are following in this direction as well. This literature review is conducted through research done through investigations by world leaders, which I explain in detail in the findings section. Most research and studies are done through the Internet these days, as well as journals. I have also proposed my own shoe design based on vast research I have found through online journals, surveys, videos and book sources. The productions of sustainable shoes are vital which are also explained in the findings and analysis section. This review contains a balanced view of both internationally and locally made sustainable shoes. There is a gap concerning the way United States of America has taken measures to protect the environment by proposing alternative shoe sources. Advanced measures are yet to be undertaken in…
