Heaven on Earth
Heaven on Earth Everyone has that special place where they can go to escape all the pressures and worries of life, that wonderful spot where you can go to soothe all your complications and stress. Imagine for a moment what that place is for you. A place that makes you feel complete and captivated. For me, the beach is that ultimate place that is unlike any other I have ever experienced. While I am there all my obligations are immediately erased. The moment I step onto the satiny, warm sand and see the magnificent view of the deep blue ocean my whole world changes. Time stands still and the only thing that matters to me is the very moment that I am living in and each breath God has given me. I am surrounded by the most mesmerizing, graceful, and majestic place on Earth. As I walk down the narrow, brown, rickety bridge that leads to the ocean my heart begins to race in anticipation of reaching the fascinating sight. I’m suddenly surrounded by sand that is white and pure as snow. I walk at a turtle’s speed absorbing this overwhelming beauty that encircles me. The sky is the brightest blue I’ve ever seen, so bright that it almost seems as if it is from an animated movie and not real life itself. Fluffy clumps of clouds that were covering the sky before slowly fade away into thin air and the crystal clear waves sparkle like diamonds. The water is never-ending. I see heaps of seagulls flying around the sky, white and grey and full of spirit. As a gust of wind runs through my long, dark, brown hair I look to the right to see two elegant dolphins leap from the deep blue sea and dive back in as if saying hello to the gorgeous, heavenly day. I am comforted by the lovely sounds of the beach; the rhythmic pounding of the waves represses all my worries. The sound repeats over and over in a boundless manner, as if your favorite song was stuck on replay. One wave crashes and another follows. A rhythm so meditating that my eyes feel as heavy as a heard of elephant’s. I

My mind was overwhelmed by the drastic change in surroundings I was experiencing. My delicate lips were being run-down by the dry and overwhelming heat of California. The sun was also constantly beating against my skin which gave it an amazing tan. Even though I was used to heat, I was not accustomed to such dry conditions that California had set for me. Yet the view that my eyes glazed upon was something I have never witnessed before. The clashing of the midnight blue waves against the grainy sand and the velvet sun…

Sitting down and enjoying the tranquil setting around them and not having one thought of significance. I watch with fascination at families playing and swimming in the exhilarating water as I too crave join in. It was perfect weather out for a day at the beach. The clear sky didn't have a single cloud to block the rays of the radiant sun. I could sense the feeling of ultra relaxation from the outstretched deep blue canopy above and the penetrating warmth that emanated from the sky and wrapped around my skin like a warm blanket on a cold winter's night. Every once in a while a cool breeze would pass by and ease away the sun's intense heat bath for brief moment. I could feel grains of sand gently brush over the top of my feet with each gust of wind. The crisp ocean wind flowed through my nasal cavity and stung the inside of my nose. My lungs quivered in surprise at how light and fresh the air was since it was not drudgingly thick with smog or other pollutants. As the salty smell of the water hit my nose, I thought about all the time I had spent waiting in anticipation to get that first refreshing whiff of ocean air that confirmed arrival and signaled the beginning of another exceptional beach experience.…

The water that surrounded me had a light blue tint to it; the water stood as clear as a person who has 20/20 vision. The water allowed me to see my feet that were wrinkled from the water. The sand beneath my feet started moving and became as soft as a baby’s bottom, that I could even feel the individual grains between my toes. I then looked up at the horizon and the sun, as a bright red and orange semi-circle in the sky, shined brightly upon my face. The sun’s beams of light touched my skin and made my body warm from the inside out. My surrounding helped me get into my own mindset; as if I stood alone with my feet in the water, meditating and trying to find inner peace. The consistent waves of the water enabled me to maintain this mindset, as the scene around me became heavenly and idealistic of the perfect place for me. Then a small delicate object passed by my feet, not just one time but multiple times. My eyes slowly moved down to glance at my feet, and realized it was a small gray bodied animal; it was a fish. The fish squirmed around my feet, and move as though it was a earth worm wiggling in my hand. I slowly lower my hands into the water, trying not to scare the fish, so I could grab one with my hands. I continued to slowly move downwards and when a fish came swimming by, I clinched my fist tight as can be; I did not catch one. Without anything to do, I just stood there thinking and realizing how peaceful the beach made me.…
