Personal Narrative: My Road Trip To California
21st century millennial’s a generation constantly distracted by technology will not come to appreciate the true wonders of the world. In fact most of our generation is set in an artificial way of living instead of experiencing the true beauty of nature and the change in landscapes that I observed on my road trip to California during the summer of 2015. Once I arrived at Santa Monica beach in California my perspective and experience of my surroundings only became more fascinating to me. All of my activities that involved my surroundings were performed without texting or using social media, only the admiring of the environment around me and simple picture taking for memories and future reminiscing. My mind was overwhelmed by the drastic change in surroundings I was experiencing. My delicate lips were being run-down by the dry and overwhelming heat of California. Yet the view that my eyes glazed upon was something I have never witnessed before. The clashing of the midnight blue waves against the grainy sand and the velvet sun …show more content…

Trapped within a different world, the parents were no better because they did nothing to help their children engage more with their surroundings. This should worry the parents since they are the biggest influence in a child's life and the millennials are the future role models of our

Today, it appears to me like people don't exactly know how to do many things on their own. Getting from one place to another needs to be looked up on maps, because people cannot use their own sense of direction. Instead of calculating something simple in their head, they use the calculator that is conveniently in their pocket. Instead of enjoying the moment people are in,…

I grew up in Vietnam and accepted Vietnam education during my childhood. It was July 19, 2011 when my parents had the opportunity to come to America as immigrants. I have great appreciation for my grandparents and parents because they gave up everything to come to America. They did this to give their children a better life and education. I still remember the day that I left my country; it was a beautiful memory that I won’t ever forget. The plane took off at 5:00 am, so we had to arrive at the airport at 3:00 am. All of my family was there with us, we were hugging and crying. It took all my strength and courage to keep from crying that day; I had to control my feelings. I couldn’t cry because if I cried it would’ve been too hard to say goodbye. Finally, I couldn’t control my tears; they raced down…

Fall trips is a time to get together with old friends and meet new ones. It is a time to be unified as a grade. 8th grade went to Kőzeg, and we had an amazing time. We went on zip-lines towering over the forests. We also went canoeing and did team-building exercises. But the most unforgettable experience of them all was going to the SOS children's village. Most of these children have a horrible past. But the point of going there was not just to talk about their harsh childhood, it was to have fun with them and let their worries float away for a couple days. 8th grade had a blast zip-lining while, at the same time, getting to know them well. I am so happy we got to spend four days with these kids, who, we quickly learned, we share more similarities…

We agree to escort them but they had to pay half of the fee for the wagon master. Their names were Edmel, Alaysa, Cheyenne, Arianna, and Breanna.
