Descriptive Essay On A Trip To Florida
The first day of the trip to Florida started off with the cars on the highway being bumper to bumper; we were at a stand still. My parents spoke to me in a tone that sounded like they were using a blow horn. The first day made me want to explode, for my blood started to boil every time my parents spoke to me. Later on that same day, we all decided that it would be a good idea to go to the beach. The tension between my parents and I began to grow, because I just stopped talking. After another thirty minutes, we finally reached the beach and I did not have to worry about anything. Soon as my feet hit the beach, the muscle in my body relaxed and my mind could think clearly again. The first thing I decided to do was to go into the water to …show more content…
The water that surrounded me had a light blue tint to it; the water stood as clear as a person who has 20/20 vision. The water allowed me to see my feet that were wrinkled from the water. The sand beneath my feet started moving and became as soft as a baby’s bottom, that I could even feel the individual grains between my toes. I then looked up at the horizon and the sun, as a bright red and orange semi-circle in the sky, shined brightly upon my face. The sun’s beams of light touched my skin and made my body warm from the inside out. My surrounding helped me get into my own mindset; as if I stood alone with my feet in the water, meditating and trying to find inner peace. The consistent waves of the water enabled me to maintain this mindset, as the scene around me became heavenly and idealistic of the perfect place for me. Then a small delicate object passed by my feet, not just one time but multiple times. My eyes slowly moved down to glance at my feet, and realized it was a small gray bodied animal; it was a fish. The fish squirmed around my feet, and move as though it was a earth worm wiggling in my hand. I slowly lower my hands into the water, trying not to scare the fish, so I could grab one with my hands. I continued to slowly move downwards and when a fish came swimming by, I clinched my fist tight as can be; I did not catch one. Without anything to do, I just stood there thinking and realizing how peaceful the beach made me. After three hours at the beach, my face began to droop at the thought that we were about to leave. The beach became the place where I needed to go to relax and to become one with myself. My body let go of the tension that I had for my parents, and the image will always be imprinted in my brain. When I think about the beach, my thoughts of any anger or pain just washes away and it becomes my happy

The trip was quite fun because the mountains we were by were smooth while being very massive in size. The day was sunny at start but sooned became cloudy and grey I was worried that it would rain and we would have to cancel but that wasn’t the case. When we approached the lake it was massive very massive with little waves right behind each other while the smell of the open and the lake were all around me. The lake was beautiful while fish were jumping out into the air and splashed right back into the diamond lake. When I saw this I became so excited and was filled with joy. It was cloudy and breezy but the air around us was warm and soothing like being right by a fire on a breezy day. I quickly setup the equipment and grabbed my fishing rod, acquired the bait and started to fish. While I was fishing my Nina and her husband set up right by the edge of the ramp and me and my sister were set up on the side. The dog was right at the edge and about to fall of the ramp but he just stood there staring into the endless darkness of the lake. As i was enjoying the air I felt a tug on my rod and instantly knew There was a fish at the end, I instantly started to reel in my line a was struggling just a bit, the fish was also struggling and it was determined by who had the most stamina. I reeled in my line and there was a mid to large sized fished on the line and I felt proud that I caught my first fish of the day. After a hour I caught 4 fish and felt proud of myself for actually staying a whole day outside and having fun. We decided to head to the house when it started to rain. When we arrived at the house it was already turning night so we headed in but before we did that my Nina showed me how to gut a fish, even though it was disgusting it was informational. After that the rest of the stay was very relaxing and pleasent and was glad to travel there for half of the…

Trying to go to school the next day. Standing in the shower thinking maybe if I dont get out I wouldn't have to start my day and move on with it all. But as the water turns to a shivering cold I realize it’s all too real. Pushing through the first five periods of the day, the last three seemed as too much. Feeling as if I will never be able to be happy again. All these gloomy days crafted me into who I am today. This whole experience making me grow up just a little bit faster, and a little more mature and understanding seeming as I already live the life as an adult, but only being a…

When one thinks of summer, it immediately comes to mind the sight of sandy beaches, amusement parks and hot sunny days. Coney Island, an extravagant vacation playground to visit especially for the summer. I have recently had an opportunity to come to such a wonderful place that the sights are still engraved in my mind. There were other attractions that I have missed out on mainly since I had only one day there. If time was not an issue, I would have definitely visited more programs that they provide. Getting there is also not a problem due to their cheap and handy subway system. One thing to be cautioned about is that it can get extremely busy on the weekends, so the best time to be there would be on the weekdays, especially if you do not want…

I have lived all my life in sunny Florida. I have always been a little different. While most of my friends were playing basketball or baseball I was tinkering with electronics and repairing or improving any item that came my way. I learned a lot from my older brother, who taught me everything I know about computers and technology. When I was a sophomore in high school, my brother and I worked together to build my own gaming computer. I have had a passion to learn as much as I can, so that I can be the best that I can possibly be. I was bullied as a child for being different, but I knew that if I pushed on, I could achieve my…

One morning a long time ago, my mom woke me up early. “It’s time to go,” she said. Go, go where I asked? “Today, we are moving to Florida,” she said. My big brown eyes began to fill up with hot salty tears. I don’t want to go, I said over and over again. You and your sibling are going to be moving to Florida with me. Again, I cried aloud, I don’t want to go. Who will take care of me? Where will I sleep? And what will I eat and drink? Consequently, all of my pleas for mercy to reside longer with my daddy was ignored, and apparently fell on deaf ears.…

Our designated skipper started up the engine welcoming us aboard. Everything was calm as we glided across the water. The atmosphere was peaceful, the sun was shining, our skipper/tour-guide was being comical, and I felt hope well up inside me. As we moved further along, the waters became murky and grim. The waves were no longer steady, but crashed against our boat, spraying me in the face with salt water. My heart began to race and my cheeks flared. I still don’t know if the salt I tasted was from the water or the tears that I shed. Our commentator then led us to a boat house. The doors closed behind us as we were engulfed in total darkness, nothing but the sound of my heartbeat and the waves lapping against the boat. I shut my eyes and prayed that nothing was lurking in its mysterious…

We had to say our last goodbye to our little house we had lived in our whole lives. When we were leaving, my family and relatives were at the house saying their goodbyes and giving hugs. “Do we really have to leave everyone and move, mom?” I asked. “Your dad and I have agreed that it will be a good move for the family, now stop complaining about it.” she told me. The only thing I wanted to do that day was stay in our old house and cry because I didn’t want to leave my family at all, I was really dreading moving to Florida. When we headed off on the roads I was still upset about the move, but my parents kept telling me it will be okay but that didn’t help me feel any…

When the gorgeous Holiday Beach came into my sight, I felt that I would have a relaxed and happy week there. The next day, my body and soul were greatly relaxed. I sat on the beach with my legs buried under the warm sand and enjoyed sunbathing; I listened to waves hitting rocks and seagulls singing. At the same time, I felt that coming to such a beautiful beach without family is a kind of regret. Seeing families taking photos and videos on the beach made me happy; looking at families playing in the seawater and sand together made me miss my family. However, my friends’ company made up for my regret. On the beach, we watched the wonderful dolphin shows and seal…

One of my most unforgettable memory was when we rented a small house near a beach. We still have yet to visit the falls. It was early in the morning where the sun has still yet to meet the sky. It was just my cousin and I sitting comfortably in the white sand. Everyone else were still fast asleep which automatically placed us to guard our belongings. I did not know of what my cousin was doing beside me but I vividly remembered how the cool breeze grazed against my skin while I set my eyes on the beautiful scenery in front of me. I held my legs close to my heart and admired the vastness and beauty of the sea. I remembered thinking back to few splendid memories while in the trip. It may not be written anywhere but in our minds and souls. First, I remembered the sing-a-longs we sang while in the car during the road trip. Lastly, are the fun times we all helped in preparing our dinner by grilling the ribs upon arriving at the small house and how we all looked so youthful and full of gleeful grins while teasing each other back and forth. After reminiscing those amazing memories, it made me feel warm inside and smile at how a hasty trip with several setbacks created a solid bond of unity amongst fellow cousins. Nevertheless, the serendipitous memory at the beach will be a constant reminder for a bigger lesson to save for the future. That memory in the beach made me realize how wrong I was to judge how a situation based only on the complications. Moreover, it made me discover what it actually means to enjoy life in the smallest bits found in…
