Beaches
The park is next to Fort Lauderdale Beach. This beach is one of the most popular in the state. The beach is open from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM daily. Following the Coastal Hammock Trail will provide you with 20 minutes of observing the natural habitat of area wildlife and native plant species. If you are a lover of nature or are simply looking for an interesting place to take a stroll, this is someplace you should not miss.
Picnicking
There are few experiences that are better than enjoying a delicious picnic lunch in the warm Floridian climate. This park has several shaded picnic areas. Most of them also have playground equipment so your kids can play while you are preparing lunch on the barbecue grill that is provided for your convenience. All three picnic pavilions are equipped with electricity and water, and each can accommodate about 75 people. All pavilions are available to rent as well.
