The education system in Sebring is remarkable. We not only have dank memes, but we also learn stuff too! The existence of an IB school in our county is helpful to those who are less fortunate, and cannot go to a better school for higher level education. If I had to go to Seminole High School and back every day, it would cost $40. That’s an extra $200 per week that most people in Sebring can’t afford. Sebring was the nation’s poorest city in 2013, and 23.5% of the population was under the poverty line. Sebring High is providing an education that most of these kids wouldn’t be able to have normally, and that really matters to me. …show more content…
The tourism in Sebring is very valuable to the city.
There are many things to do for visitors, and also for residents. The Hammock and the raceway are the two significant tourism spots in Sebring. The Hammock is a state park, and the raceway is very popular throughout the country, and even the world. The Highlands Hammock is an important staple to our community, and is renowned throughout the country, though not as much as the raceway. Sebring survives on these two things, and would probably cease to exist without
them.
The bad part about Sebring is the poverty, mainly. 37.6% of the citizens are below the poverty line, and the crime rate is high in most parts. The murder rate is incredibly high, and all crime rates are 76% than the country’s average family income is just $13,589, and 19% of the population makes less than $10k a year. Only 74.5% of people in Sebring have graduated 8th grade, and the poverty level in Sebring is 68% greater than the national average, and the median household income in Sebring is 49% lower than the national average.
In conclusion, Sebring is a wonderful town to live in, despite its poverty rate. The high school is an IB school, the tourism is nice, and the state park is incredible. Despite its flaws, the only town I’d like to live in is Sebring.
