The reason why it is believed that God exists is because he is the best explanation for the creation of nature’s beautiful things. The Design Argument is one of the most popular arguments used to explain the existence of God. A famous philosopher known as William Paley suggested that everything has a designer and that is because things are put together for a clear and precise reason. His argument for the existence of God includes a stone, a watch, and an eye, and that God is the designer. He starts off the argument by explaining about how one could simply be strolling down the street, and just so happen to come across a stone. He states that if one comes across a stone on their walk, they would likely not question how it got there and what its purpose was. However, if one were to come across a watch, that person would question how it got there due to the fact that the watch has intricate pieces. Each of those pieces has a specific function and a different use. It is widely known that a watch is created by a watchmaker, or a designer rather. Similarly, the watch story can be related to that of a human eye. Much like the watch, the human eye contains parts and pieces on the biological level that are complex and are aimed at a goal or a purpose. In this case, the curvature of the eye and the other different parts of the eye …show more content…
A popular objection involves Charles Darwin’s Theory of Evolution. The theory of evolution is based on the belief of natural selection. Natural selection is a theory that has much scientific support. This is when an organism may have a genetic mutation that my cause an abnormality. Sometimes the abnormality may prove to actually be an advantage. The mutation, for example, could be the fact that a snake in a jungle was once black and with a genetic skin mutation, a few snakes happened to have a green skin color. Since they had the green skin color, they camouflaged with their surroundings more, and that allowed for longer lifespans. After the snakes with the mutation reproduced and produced offspring with green skin, those snakes started to survive longer. Eventually through time, the snakes with the black skin started to die out since they were best fit for
