This is a major influencer to the conflict or even possible conflict. The United States uses critical theory to improve society and the lives of those not able to govern themselves. The U.S. worked extremely hard to make life in America better each year. There was more of a focus on what the people wanted, but there still was order. Theodore Roosevelt’s mission was to expand western civilization, and to shake it’s global competitors. This idea or view is a liberal and a critical theory perspective, because T.R. uses the law/government to advance the western civilization. This is also a critical theory because, T.R. is trying to change society and how it runs.

The United States believed they could dominate the world, and Theodore Roosevelt at one point was stirring problems with multiple countries. Roosevelt was trying to prove the dominance of the United States, and not many countries reacted. After Roosevelt left office, he had to choose between two different policies. This idea is a liberal perspective because he used the law to make his
