During the summer of 1967 in Detroit was a summer to never forget. On July 23, 1967 Detroit police had raided the blind pig ,which caused chaos on the 12th street. The Detroit riots started when a person threw a bottle into the street and at a cop car. After this happen people began to loot stores. There were 1,700 stores being looted and 2,000 building destroyed. After stores were looted governor Jerome P. Cavanagh put national guards in front of stores. When this happen somebody tried to loot a store and store owner had shot a person. On July 24 there was the first death of this riot. On this day governor Jerome P. Cavanagh asks president Lyndon B.
