Diana Alternate Ending
“Diana, the explanation is quite simple. Like you, I was unaware that I had family. Yours was never mentioned to me, so I had no knowledge of your existence. But as an adult, I became intrigued with my genealogy. Mother did extensive research. Upon its completion, it was bequeathed to myself. Soon after, my own life embarked in a new direction and for a time, it was forgotten. Then, as is prone to occur, education and work filled my every waking moment. Purchasing my home was next on my time-line, and soon to follow was traveling extensively. Everything came to a halt when my parents...” He paused at this point, remembering, his tone quieting, “...passed suddenly. I wandered aimlessly... I am sure you understand... daily habitude had no purpose …show more content…
She has renewed my zest for life, replaced my once bleak existence with hope and emotion... but I digress. Recently, as I made the attempt to regain my previous endeavors, I assembled a computer for my computations. One night, as I re-acquainted myself with some of the various enterprises I had thought to pursue, I happened upon the genealogy folder, given to me by Mother. At once it occurred to me that I long to be part of a family once again. I am attempting to acclimate to the society to which I have returned but progress is slow.”
“I understand, sort of. Thanks for not getting huffy at my impertinent question,” she said,

“Can't sleep?” she asked softly, even though she already knew why he was awake. “Not exactly. I received a ‘cousinly visit’. The conversation lasted for hours.” He propped himself up on the pillow and smiled guiltily up at her. “I know. I heard voices down here. Was it a nice chat?” “Any conversation concerning you is always a ‘nice chat’.” He smiled again, and shrugged his shoulders. Lily shifted her position to lean nearer to hear him.
He could not help but notice her gentleness, the delicate scent of her perfume, and her beauty. He was always conscious of these. But suddenly, he became aware of her soft, filmy nightwear... and her incredible shape. The dim glow of the night-lighting silhouetted her frame... and she had his undivided attention. His words had warmed her heart so innocently, Lily leaned down to give him a tight hug. Marc wrapped his arms about her, pulling her to him, and breathed in the scent of her once more. As he held her close, he understood oh-so-well, that he was in love with this woman. And with that love came a need... a desire she was not ready to learn as of yet. Remembering the fear she had written about later in her life, he knew it would be prudent for her to return to her bed forthwith. He attempted to retain his focus, for he refused to spoil
