The book “Anne Frank: Diary of A Young Girl” tells the story of Anne Frank, a German-born teenager who spent 2 years of her life hiding during the German-occupation of the Netherlands in World War II. Anne Frank gained fame after her diary was found 2 years after she has died. Since then, her writings have been etched into history as it accounts the horrors faced by the Jews and the Dutch alike during the peak of Nazism.

The story of Anne Frank’s experience during the Nazi occupation begins on her 13th birthday on 1942, as she was given a diary as a present. She begins her writings by describing her relationships with family and friends, and her academic performance. Since segregation existed in the country and there was a present of anti-Semitic laws requiring Jews to be separated from the others, Anne and her sister Margot attended a school exclusively for children Jews. To escape from the persecution of the Jews in Germany, Anne’s family moved to the Netherlands and stayed there on the duration of the World War II. Aside from that, Anne shares her struggles with growing up, as she lives with fear for herself and her family. After a couple of months into hiding, an informant has reported about the Franks hideout, and later on, ordered the capture of the family. Three days into the capture, Anne and her family were tortured, forced to strip and labeled with numbers, as they were forced into slave labor.
