Dicers: An Ethical Dilemma

When debating whether the action that one is taking is ethically correct or incorrect can depend on the ethical morals that a person, or company, upholds. In the situation given from the Improper Conduct by Management, a company named Dicers buys wafers from another company then resales after processing and packaging them. Engineer A worked for the company Dicers and was assigned the task to alter a certain testing process to which the wafers quality was seemed to be less when in reality there was no difference. Engineer A objected to the change, yet his supervisor continued to enforce the alternative testing of the wafers. Engineer A's ethical morals lead him to not want to continue with the alter testing, objected against the testing, and as a result he was let go by the company. The company Dicers decided that it will change the testing process,
The two companies who took actions in the buy and sell contractually agreed on the change, but only the company Dicers, which Engineer A worked for, had further knowledge and financial benefit. The dishonesty between the seller and buyer create the main ethical dilemma in the situation. The seller was not fully aware of the alteration of the testing process causing the buyer to be the only company gaining profit. According to the AIC, American Institute of Constructors, code of ethics no company should have a greater advantage than the other. If placed in this situation the action the company Dicer lead to issue of being ethically incorrect. The decision that the supervisor to and enforced was the reason in which Engineer A was placed in this situation. Whether or not the supervisor is fully at fault for the decision is unknown since no further details are given if there were more parties involved in the decision making. Yet, everyone could have avoided this situation if there hadn't been a change in the process that the wafers were tested
