This assessment will investigate “To what extent did the Nazi’s change the role of women during the second world war from 1933 - 1945?” To be able to find out how far the Nazi’s changed the role of women, this investigation will focus on the Nazi’s role during this time and following their policies and the structure of the Nazi Regime as well as the certain stages in which the Nazi’s expressed their ideas and thoughts on women during that time. Also, the ideas behind the policies, which the Nazi’s implemented contribute very much in shaping the role of the women during this time period.

Women in Nazi Germany were to play a very specific role, and Hitler was very clear about: “The women’s world is her husband, her family, her children and her home. We do not find it right when she presses into the world of men” . Here, Hitler himself emphasizes that he himself had an image in his head about women and what their purpose would be in life. Hitler made this also clear through all kinds of propaganda pictures and posters . The women were also seen as incapable of doing anything: “They cannot think logically or reason objectively since they are ruled by emotion”. Women in Nazi Germany mains purpose is to analyze the aims and most importantly the effects that the Nazi’s and their policies had on women. The source’s values include the in-depth look at the Nazi’s as it covers many topics to great detail. As well, the author puts emphasis on the experiences of diverse women in Nazi Germany before the war and during the war. Lastly, the novel ends with a debate whether the women truly were victims of the Nazi, which is unlikely and unique. The limitations of the novel could be the publication of the novel. Now, more information is available about this time period so perhaps this would have changed some parts of the novel if it were written
