Under the new government, the Weimer Constitution of 1919 was founded, which granted women the right to vote; therefore, women in this regime had a certain degree of freedom. This freedom allowed women to become active in politics and other professions that were not for women during that time period. Even though, they became politically affluent, male still were in control of major political decisions. It was men that made changes politically, women politicians were the left hands. Although the Weimer Republic emancipated women, it still discriminated against women because the women did not have any control or political influence on either marriage or in the wider social and economic sphere.
