freedom which in turn gained them the loyalty of other colonists. In the second American revolution the confederacy offered slaves freedom if they fought on their side and justified their acts of owning slaves with pseudo science and other reasoning to gain a greater robust support.
The great deal of similarities between the First American Revolution and the Reconstruction Era ( the Second American Revolution) means that the reconstruction era should be recognized as the Second American Revolution. The oft parallel pattern seen in both the First American revolution and the Reconstruction era indicates that the reconstruction era should be seen as the Second Revolution of America. The changes/ the addition of amendments in the constitution regarding the issue of slavery came during the Reconstruction Era. The addition of amendments thirteen, fourteen, and fifteen meant that the issues of slavery, civil rights in states, and black suffrage in the United States was addressed through this addition. These additions to the constitution mark the Reconstruction era as truly the Second American Revolution.
