One of the differences is how they are made. Fender makes their guitars mechanically, but Gibson crafts them by hand, taking time and care to give it its rich sound. The Stratocaster has a clean snappy tone but can be gritty too. The Les Paul delivers a rich bass, a defined mid, and snappy treble sounds. Another difference is how many coils the pickups contain. In the Les Paul, there are humbucker pickups which is comprised of two coils that converts the waves into signals while cancelling out the hum that is given off from the strings.
