Education is becoming very important now. Students can learn a lot of knowledge in schools. This can help them find jobs easily and with the job’s people can contribute to the development of their countries. Each Country has its own education system that helps its people. The following essay will explain the similarities and the differences between two developed countries such as Australia and Singapore.
One of the similarities is that school calendar of both types of school system. Both of them have four terms and some small breaks in one year. For example, the school will start in January and finish in December. In both countries, the longest holiday is about 6 or 7 weeks long, which is between December and January. Furthermore, the timetable of two school systems is almost same. For instance, in the schools of both countries, classes are on Monday to Friday, 8:45 am to 3 pm, the students will have break for lunch ("Attention Required! | CloudFlare," n.d.) ("About Australian education," n.d.). Thus, the Australian school system and Singapore school system have similar schedule.

Both of the school will offer many subjects to let students make the choice, the students can choose some subjects which subjects they want to learn. For example, the subjects are English, Mathematics, Social Studies of Society, Environment, Science and Arts("About Australian education," n.d.) ("Attention Required! | CloudFlare," n.d.). Therefore, students will get more choice to learn, it can make students to get more experiences, both of education system is good for the students.
While these are the similarities between the Australian school system and Singapore school system, one should not ignore the difference between them.
The first difference between the Australian education system and Singapore education system is the student-teacher ratio in Singapore is larger than that of Australian. For example, they have 40 students in every teacher in Singapore ("Attention Required! | CloudFlare," n.d.), but they only have 23 students in every teacher in Australian ("About Australian education," n.d.). In contrast, the teacher can focus more on the students in Australian than the teacher in Singapore. Nonetheless, the students who studies in Australian can get more chance to ask questions to the teacher, they can learn more knowledge than the students in Singapore.
Another difference is the Australian education system provides fewer exams and assignments than the Singapore education system.
In Australian, they only have one formal exam in the end of high school ("About Australian education," n.d.), but in Singapore, they have more exams than Australian. For example, they have many exams which are named of PSLE, O Level and A level in Singapore ("Attention Required! | CloudFlare," n.d.). In contrast, the Australian education system is more relax than the Singapore education system. As a result, the Singapore education system will make the students feel more stressful than the Australian education
system.
All in all, both of the two types of education system have the same school calendar and they have many subjects to choose by the student. However, the class size of Singapore is larger than the class of Australian and the Singapore education system provides more exams and assignments than the Australian education system. Hence, it is important to know what type of education system is more suitable for you.
