Many of the jobs that immigrants have is either one that doesn’t pay well and/ or requires you to do hard labor without having many breaks or getting paid well. Another opportunity that immigrants wish they had is having the liberty of being able to buy the house they wish to live in. Many immigrant families have to to live in overcrowded houses. An example would be living in an apartment/house where 8 people live and there is only one restroom and one room. Many families have adapt to live in these places because many parents don’t have the same right as others who have a social security or some type of document that proves they are legal Americans. In my opinion I feel that way because I want to be able to help my parents with their situation but at the same time I feel like i'm no use because I too am an immigrant. Whenever i see students just letting opportunities slip by or when they don’t really care about their education it makes me a little frustrated because there are people who wished they had the same opportunities that they have and would be willing to do anything to get a chance to better their lives for once. Through time i’ve learned to have an open mindset because when you’re an immigrant you get called a lot of hurtful names and this is something i have learned to deal with and ignore. For a long time I used to think that I wasn’t going to be successful in life just because I don’t have a social security number but over time i started to realize that if I wanted to better the lives of my parents and myself i needed to start focusing on where i want to be rather than where I am. This is why anything that i ever received i appreciate because i understand that things in life are earned not
