Title of Paper
I think the caution against notice is given to help not create a bias against a specific town or type of person. Towns that are listed on the crimes page may deter people from moving there or make people want to move. This could also cause a town to be isolated from society making communities even worse. There are other negative consequences from this site as well. Many university’s or just school in general may lose enrollment or lack of enrollment because people may use this site when buying a home or sending their children to universities.

Certain churches are targeted when to comes to prejudice. An individual that belongs to the church or certain relioges group may be a vitim of this.

Sterotypes is what comes out of prejudice. Foe exsample all irish people are drinkers and party all the time. Or that all over wight people over eat and are lazy. The peoblem is this way of thinking is to generalized. Stero types can evolve from statiscs as well such as what was mentioned above. Discrimination comes from having a prjuce attude to begin with. For ecsample the military has discrimination against a persons sexeal prefrence. A person may be discriminated to certain jobs of the military even though they may be quilified.

Racism is an induviduals attitude toward a person just based on there race. A group such as the KKK can be seen as having rasicst views and beleives. They believe if you are not white you are not equal to them regaurdless of your place in society. Secism is sort of the same thing except they may be prejuces just based on someone gender. In many jobs such as blue collar jobs that are sterotyped as being just for men can show some

    I have driven around Jane and Finch at one in the morning numerous times on my way home from work and the streets were as quiet as can be, no “thugs” running around the streets, no gun shots heard and no blood splattered on the ground. Although I had only lived there briefly, I gained a clear understanding of what the “ghetto” area is actually like, and it is far from what people describe it to be.

Although anywhere along Jane Street is relatively safe, I would be lying if I said that there is absolutely no crimes happening. There is a lot of coverage on the news about the crimes happening in Jane and Finch compared to any other neighbourhood. I can’t deny the fact that there are dangerous people in the area; however just because a few people committed wrongful acts, it doesn’t mean that everyone else from that area are criminals. Crimes can happen anywhere whether you live in a safe neighbourhood like Bayview and Sheppard or a dangerous neighbourhood like Jane and Finch. However, Jane Street, especially Jane and Finch has a bad reputation of being dangerous that a stereotype formed that everyone from that area is a criminal.
