In the period 1750 to 1914 in Latin America and the Caribbean, while the use of foreign workers remained the same, the role of women changed from being confined to the home to working in factories, and the use of slaves changed from being the most popular labor force in Latin America to being completely abolished legally.
Despite the passage of years, the use of foreign workers remained the same in Latin
America and the Caribbean. Though the use of foreign workers began as being less popular than slavery, it grew to become an alternative to slavery, and the foreign workers were continually treated better than slaves ever were.
