Discuss The Six Sigma Approach In Health Care
Healthcare Facilities are charged with the process of quality care, sustaining patient satisfaction, carrying out controls on cost at the same time maintaining productivity in the whole organization. Two methods have been primarily used in this process, there are Six Sigma, ISO9000/9001. The two methods have been utilized in improving the processes, creating of standards and defining high quality measurements, and goals in a healthcare organization.
The ISO 9000 series was formed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) as international requirements and guiding principles for quality management systems. Also, it was formerly introduced in 1987 and throughout the years has recognized itself in the global economy having been …show more content…
Also, the increase in performance and decrease in process variation lead to defect reduction and improvement in profits, employee self-confidence, and quality of products or services (Online, 2017). Six Sigma method is used for effectiveness quality improvement. The Six Sigma in healthcare puts emphasis on reduction and changeability. Also, through reduction and changeability in turns raise the quality apart from decreasing effectiveness. Also, since healthcare facilities reduces variability, it is in a great position of continually improving apart from measuring outcomes. Furthermore, the Six Sigma approach makes use of analysis, statistics with corroboration in its measurement. Also, with trained certified leaders, the healthcare facilities are able to recognize and implement change. Also, many organizations can benefit by educating their staff, eliminating waste, and saving money by using these methods. Finally, this can lead to customer satisfaction, more business, and improved delivery performance.
